Abstract
Purpose: This study aimed to examine the relationship between knowledge management processes and administrative processes in higher education, with a case study of the College of Management and Economics at Al-Mustansiriyah University, Iraq.
Method: The study was applied in terms of purpose and employed a quantitative descriptive-correlational design. The statistical population comprised faculty members and administrative staff of the College of Management and Economics at Al-Mustansiriyah University, Iraq, with 110 participants taking part in the study. Data were collected using a two-part questionnaire covering knowledge management processes (knowledge creation, storage, sharing, and application) and administrative processes (planning, organizing, leadership, and control). Instrument validity was established through expert judgment, and reliability was confirmed using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and regression analysis in SPSS.
Findings: The results showed that the overall levels of knowledge management and administrative processes were above the midpoint of the measurement scale. Among the knowledge management dimensions, knowledge storage received the highest evaluation, whereas knowledge creation received the lowest. Regarding administrative processes, planning received the highest evaluation, while leadership received the lowest. The findings also revealed a positive and statistically significant relationship between knowledge management and administrative processes. Regression analysis was a significant predictor of administrative processes, with Knowledge sharing identified as the strongest contributing dimension.
Conclusion: Knowledge management is closely associated with administrative processes at the college. Strengthening knowledge creation and sharing, systematically documenting and storing knowledge, and effectively integrating knowledge into administrative decision-making can contribute to enhancing planning, organizing, leadership, and control, ultimately improving the college’s administrative performance.
